One solution to this problem is utilizing QR code identification systems that allow individuals or caregivers to input the desired information into a system that first responders or good Samaritans can scan the QR code to gain access to the provided, critical information. This project aimed to train first responders on this form of identification while informing the community of this technology. Although COVID-19 added numerous barriers, a virtual training module proved to be an efficient means of training a local police department on QR code identification systems. The officer feedback offered quantitative data for improved confidence and qualitative recommendations for expanding first responder training on this technology.
