Abstract
After-School Energizers
After-School Energizers are physical activities that after-school leaders can use to promote character development, life skills training, and academic enrichment. The After-School Energizers were developed by a team from the Activity Promotion Laboratory at East Carolina University. An after-school leader can help children be physically active by helping them to feel connected to the after-school program and competent in the activities they perform. The more children are exposed to each activity, the more competent they will become in that activity. It is recommended that you try each activity several times â€, children will become more comfortable with the activity each time you use it and the potential benefits to academic performance, life skills, and character development will increase.
