    Abstract
Tasked with re-working East Carolina University's Joyner Library materials allocation plan to better align it with current needs, two librarians, Lisa Barricella (Acquisitions) and Cindy Shirkey (Collection Development) decided to incorporate a use factor measure. By incorporating a use factor, such as the one developed by George Bonn, Barricella and Shirkey hope to distribute the money for books in a way that more closely represents actual usage patterns for the collection. During the presentation, the speakers will give a history of the materials allocation plan used by Joyner Library since the 1980's, talk about using Bonn's measure on our collection, and outline what our new materials allocation plan will look like.
