Abstract
This study explored the best practices and strategies for website redesign in higher education. College websites experience many challenges in a digitally driven world. This study examined what role visuals, aesthetics, usability, information design, and marketing play when redesigning a website in higher education. In the absence of standardized guidelines this study investigated how users perceived visuals, organization of information, marketing, and usability. Research collected from website professionals at community colleges helped to assess patterns and trends. A focus was placed on how vast amounts of information are organized so that target audiences could easily access it, while promoting the latest initiatives or programs that are important to the institution. This study looked at how to organize data properly and place the correct visuals in the precise locations for the target users. By following simple strategies and practices any college can have a successful website redesign experience.
