Abstract
The Community Accessible Resources, Education, and Screenings (CARES) Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) project’s primary purpose was to provide healthcare services, support, and education that focused on health promotion, disease prevention, and management of disease to residents at a local rescue mission. The CARES project was divided into four main components. The secondary prevention and screenings component of the project was the focus of this paper. The purpose of the secondary prevention and screenings project was to design, implement, and evaluate a process for healthcare screenings and a standardized intake process.
