Description | In my project, I propose that pragmatic reasoning for believing in a good god does not fall prey to the Evil God challenge. The “Evil God challenge” is a philosophical argument that holds that the belief in favor of a supremely good god can be equally mirrored or parodied for the existence of a supremely evil god. The challenge does this by providing evidence and counter arguments for why an evil god is just as plausible as a good god. I contend that while the Evil God Challenge holds strong in its epistemic reasoning based approach, a pragmatic reasoning based approach will not allow the EGC challenge the same success. | |
