Abstract
Building Buddies is a campus organization that began its creation process in Honors 2000. Building Buddies is partnered with non-profit organization, Building Hope which is a center near ECU’s campus that focuses on youth and family transformation and development. Building Hope has an after-school program where students from all over Greenville come to the center after school, eat a snack, receive help with homework, worship, and play. The goal of Building Buddies is to create mentor relationships between ECU students and students who attend the after-school program at Building Hope. ECU students who are members of Building Buddies attend the after-school program once a week and work with a specific child or age group. They help them with homework, play with them, and provide them with a friend and role model to which they can look up. Building Buddies is all about consistency. It is about consistently showing up for the children at Building Hope.
