Abstract
Public health is a form of healthcare that aims to improve the health of communities through preventative methods. This includes law-making, public education, and control of the spread of disease. By using detailed imagery of current diseases that are public health concerns and their causes, this series of drawings promotes healthy lifestyle choices to the viewer. The use of art as a conduit for science has been used for centuries, most notably during the Renaissance. The anatomical drawings from artists such as Leonardo da Vinci are still used in textbooks today and documented significant findings in the human anatomy. This project contributes to the growing field of public health, while not only educating the public on potential future health concerns, but presenting information in a way that is visually pleasing and can be easily understood.
