The Tar-Pamlico Blue Economy Corridor (BEC) serves three Tier 1 Counties (Nash, Pitt, and Edgecombe Counties) and one Tier 2 county (Beaufort County) in Eastern North Carolina (North Carolina Department of Commerce, 2022). These are counties intersected by the Tar and Pamlico Rivers which coalesce into one river basin – the Tar-Pamlico River Basin. The four counties that comprise the BEC fall within the Eastern portion of the Tar-Pamlico River Basin. All four counties are located within an essentially flat, coastal plain of Eastern North Carolina. SMART goals and objectives were created at the beginning of this project to further amplify and promote the BEC. These goals were divided into two target areas: ArcGIS StoryMap and social media.
