2022 RTK-GNSS data of Hatteras Island, NC

Abstract

The dataset consists of digital data collected using Real-time Kinematic Global Navigation Satellite System (RTK-GNSS) technology at Hatteras Island, North Carolina. This region is known for its diverse coastal habitats that provide a home to various plant and animal species.

The dataset comprises elevation data (Z) referenced to NAVD88 using Geoid 18, accompanied by their respective X and Y positions relative to NAD83(2011) projected to State Plane North Carolina 3200. Furthermore, it provides information about the precision of these observations, both horizontally and vertically, expressed as one standard deviation. This dataset holds significant value for studying the impact of climate change on habitats in the region. It also supports the development of adaptive management strategies to preserve the diverse habitats within this area.
