Paying Close Attention is a body of work created to complete the Master of Fine Art degree at East Carolina University. This document supports my creative thesis, a body of three works entitled Mobile, Deconstruction, and Calendar Clarity. The initial focus of my research is to create a tactile, meditative experience for myself. Creating a sensory encounter for the viewer is also an essential component of the finished work. These pieces serve as memories of making and are symbols of meditation and quietness. Each piece differs in materials, technique, and display and the themes above serve to unify the exhibition.  en_US
