This creative thesis consists of the beginning of a novel and sections that will be used in the creation of a whole narrative. RENOVATION is a story of several characters' experiences in the surrounding areas of the same North Carolina town. Each character is in need of or is undergoing a renovation. RENOVATION explores the changing of the South in a postmodern world. This narrative is also concerned with how Southerners have chosen to adapt with the changes in the economy in the beginning of the twenty-first century, while also examining the consequences of drug addiction and alcoholism.  en_US
