Shortage in staffing in healthcare is a significant issue in our community and our nation. Unfortunately, this issue continues to be on the rise and will continue for years to come if there is not an intervention put into place to improve this problem. This project was designed to increase the awareness of healthcare professions among high school students, to impact the lives of the students, healthcare occupations, the healthcare delivery system, and the community. The project consisted of a healthcare career fair targeted at high school students at two local high schools in the county. There were many healthcare occupations that were represented to speak to the students. Upon completion of this project, there was an increase of 9.2% of students who were interested in healthcare and would consider applying to college for a healthcare degree after high school graduation.en_US
