Abstract

This research project investigates the vaping habits and perceptions of college students, aiming to shed light on the prevalence, patterns, and factors influencing vaping behavior among this demographic. Through a carefully designed survey, data on frequency of use, preferred devices and flavors, as well as perceptions of health risks and social influences will be collected. By analyzing the responses and considering demographic variables such as age, gender, and academic major, the study seeks to provide a comprehensive needs assessment of the ECU student body of vaping awareness within the college population. The findings aim to inform targeted interventions and policies aimed at addressing vaping-related issues and promoting healthier behaviors among college students. In addition, collecting data from East Carolina University resources and bridging the gap between students vaping and the resources that need to be provided to allow awareness and vaping cessation amongst students.
