Description | The Superintendent of Moore County Schools requested a program evaluation to support the use of the Reading Plus program for reading intervention. The schools or administrators across the system had chosen a variety of different intervention programs without LEA coordination or internal analysis. Therefore, the program evaluation was to determine the extent, if any, of the Reading Plus intervention program on the reading achievement of students at middle (grades 6, 7, and 8) in the Moore County Schools so that the administration could make informed decisions about the program. According to the analysis of student Lexile scores and teacher survey information, the impact of the Reading Plus program on student academic achievement in reading for those students enrolled in the program in Grades 6-8 was significant. Based upon the description of the program cost of the RP program and comparable reading intervention programs, the cost of the Reading Plus program was cost effective in the consideration of the overall Reading Plus program benefits. | en_US |
