Education in North Carolina's Black Belt

Abstract

North Carolina is federally required to provide an appropriate education to all of its residents. Across the United States, history has seen this not be applied equally to members of all races, socio-economic levels, and cognitive abilities. There are downfalls across the country in many states. This report will focus directly on the counties in North Carolina’s ‘Black Belt’ and the systemic racism still seen to this day.
