    Abstract
These slides were presented to learners through ECU's Lifelong Learning Program in Spring 2022. They provide an overview of the foods and beverages in our diets that may be hurting or helping our memory - including a review of dietary supplements. It reviews the evidence-based MIND approach to eating, which is a combination of the DASH and Mediterranean diets, and why it may be helpful for individuals concerned about memory loss, heart disease, and/or inflammation. It includes the MIND diet assessment tool and provides tips on how to adopt an eating approach that more closely aligns with the MIND approach. Research has demonstrated that better adherence to the MIND diet is associated with greater benefit to brain health, Alzheimer's disease risk, and cognitive function.
