Predatory Journals and Conferences. Just Say No!

Abstract

This presentation was designed for dietetic and nutrition professionals to be able to: 1) Verbalize an understanding of the term predatory in relation to journals and conferences 2) List at least 3 criteria they can use to determine if a specific journal is a trustworthy place to submit a manuscript 3) List at least 3 criteria they can use to determine if a conference is legitimate or potentially predatory and 4) Understand how a health sciences librarian can help you decide if a journal or conference is trustworthy or predatory. Examples from dietetics and nutrition journals were used. Other tools for Identifying Quality journals were demonstrated.
