Abstract
A PowerPoint presentation was given to Family Medicine residents on the findings of a systematic review comparing the results of dieting versus a "Health at Every Size" (HAES) model on weight management and overall health. The presentation included the history of HAES and its basic tenants, how HAES differs from traditional dieting, the findings of a systematic review comparing HAES and dieting, and how to begin integrating HAES into outpatient clinical practice. The presentation also included education on how to determine the reputability of an article, how a systematic review compares to a meta-analysis, and determining if research in the literature should influence clinical practice.
